The Sask. Party government is bringing a helicopter ("rotary wing") ambulance program to Saskatchewan but, contrary to recommendations made in an independent report, they have failed to ensure the needed infrastructure is in place. Now we'll have a helicopter ambulance service but no place for them to land at hospitals.

The NDP is calling on the Sask. Party government to immediately put a stop to the Grateful Patient Direct Mail program announced for the Saskatoon Health Region.
The program will use personal information to contact recent hospital patients to solicit donations for health care.

A week away from a premiers’ special health-care summit in Victoria, New Democrats want to know what message the Sask. Party government will deliver to premiers across the country.
NDP health critic Cam Broten questioned whether the Sask. Party will aim to strengthen our public health care system or focus instead on increasing the role of profit-driven health care companies?

Job growth is largely stagnant in Saskatchewan with most other provinces outpacing us, according to a new report from Statistics Canada.
While 3,100 jobs were added in Saskatchewan over the last year, neighbouring Manitoba added 5,800 jobs and employment in Alberta skyrocketed by 98,200 jobs. The only provinces to add fewer jobs than Saskatchewan were New Brunswick and Quebec. The number of people employed in Saskatchewan last month was the lowest it has been since May, 2011.
“It’s concerning that our province is at the bottom of the pack for job creation,” NDP employment critic Cam Broten said. “With 26,100 people unemployed and looking for work in our province, the Sask. Party should recognize that sluggish job growth is a problem."
